Tamamta program announces new cohort of fellows

Six graduate students were announced as the third cohort of fellows in the Tamamta program, which centers on bridging Indigenous and Western sciences to transform graduate education and research in fisheries and marine sciences.

香港六合彩官网资料 program, which is funded by the National Science Foundation, was launched in 2020. Tamamta, a joint program of 香港六合彩官网资料鈥檚 College of Fisheries and Ocean Sciences and College of Rural and Community Development, provides funding for multiple cohorts of Indigenous and non-Indigenous CFOS graduate students over five years.

The new cohort of Tamamta fellows includes Alex Jenkins, Chris Tran, Craig Chythlook, Hanna Hellen, Justin Leon and Rachel Lekanoff.

Tamamta program activities and training include Indigenous fisheries courses, an elder-in-residence program, a visiting Indigenous scholar program, cultural immersion experiences, professional development and more. More information about the Tamamta program and fellows .
